La Leche League of East Lansing, Michigan

All breastfeeding mothers and mothers-to-be interested in breastfeeding are welcome to come to our meetings or call one of our Leaders for breastfeeding help or information. Babies and toddlers are always welcome at our meetings. The East Lansing group meets on the northeast side of Lansing, just west of Frandor/127 off Chester Rd.

Meeting Information
Series Meetings meet the first Thursday of each month at 6:30 pm.
Meetings are located at the First Christian Church, located at 1001 Chester Road in Lansing.

Leaders Information

La Leche League Leaders are experienced mothers who have breastfed their own babies and who have been trained and accredited by La Leche League International to help mothers and mothers-to-be with all aspects of breastfeeding. They are available by phone whenever you have breastfeeding questions or concerns.

Membership in La Leche League USA is $40 for one year. All membership fees support your local Group. The benefits of membership include a one-year subscription to the digital edition of NEW BEGINNINGS magazine, the only magazine devoted to breastfeeding families, and a discount on items purchased from LLLI.org including a line of  books on breastfeeding for mothers (and children!) Membership is not required to attend meetings; meetings and breastfeeding support are always free.

    I was wondering if there are going to be any meetings closer to Owosso, MI if not in Owosso because I would love to attend a meeting but cannot drive to Lansing. Also, do you work along with MOPS groups in your general Lansing area because there is one located around the corner that meets every second Friday of the month? Thank you for your time.

      Donnesa, I don’t think there are any closer to Owosso, but if it’s closer for you to be in Flint, here is a list of meetings around your area. I still think East Lansing is closer, though, and we do meet in the evenings. http://www.llli.org/web/michigan.html

      We haven’t gotten involved specifically with other groups, though we have had a table at local mom2mom sales and raffled off baby gift baskets, which has created a lot of awareness, so we have a number of pregnant and new mothers in our group. Of course people come and go as they nurse, then wean, then have another baby…
